Lysychansk Dnipropetrovsk Supplies 9 26 2015

Samaritan’s purse donated these supplies for the Lysychansk and Dnipropetrovsk hospitals. It is small but a good start. This combined with the supplies we already have will be a sizable quantity which will go with us to Ukraine in a few weeks!

Ukraine Mission 3 Clarification

Posted by worldorphanrelief on September 29, 2015

Our missions must live and breathe in order to accommodate the complex nature of the areas in which we operate. We go into war zones wherein the situation may change by the hour – hence the vague planning and hazy departure dates. As such we ask for your patience and understanding.

Our most recent operation has solidified, thankfully, and our only remaining obstacle is a bit more funding – roughly 3k. With this in-hand we will be boots-on-the-ground within a few days. The team includes myself, Frankie Jay Brave Bull, Angela Lipari, a translator, and driver.

The separatist government of Luhansk has dismissed almost all NGOs operating in the region, leaving the people without food, medicine, etc. Those who can leave, will. The Ukrainian government has asked me and my team to depart for Luhansk as quickly as possible and teach the children – refugee and resident – about all the explosive dangers they may encounter. This mission will save the life and limb of hundreds – perhaps thousands – of children for many years to come.

It is a great honor to be specifically requested by a regional government for such a critical mission. We have education support from the UN, 192nd EOD, and Mr. King of Jane’s Information Group – equally huge honors. We will do both them and you proud.

Success with UNICEF Ukraine

Posted by worldorphanrelief on September 9, 2015

I have been communicating with UNICEF Ukraine over the past week to see if we may cooperate in our effort to teach children about the dangers of landmines, etc. Today, they sent me their education materials so that we may assist their mission with the caveat that we do not add to their curriculum. This is a great achievement for The Fishermen as it eliminates the need for our own material and lowers expense. Also, working in coordination with UNICEF will prevent overlaps in education and will improve our overall image in the MRE (mine risk education) community. More progress! Basically, at this point, we are completely set to depart.

Good News for Lysychansk and Dnipropetrovsk

Posted by worldorphanrelief on September 9, 2015

Samaritan’s Purse contacted me this morning to announce that they will be dispatching the first shipment of medical aid collected for both the Children’s Hospital in Lysychansk and the Regional Military Medical Hospital in Dnipropetrovsk. Once arrived at The Fishermen’s storage unit I will assess whether or not my team can carry it to Ukraine when we depart for our mission. If not, it will be shipped in advance. Progress!
