Standing Rock Mission a “Go”

Posted by worldorphanrelief on May 4, 2014

SR 2
The team will be conducting a humanitarian mission to the Standing Rock Sioux Nation (http://www.standingrock.org/) next week to deliver hygiene supplies collected by the fine parishioners of Saint Barnabas Episcopal church of MD.  Accompanying will be Richard Wilson, our OT, and two members of SB.

During our stay they will be visiting with my sister, Ladonna Bravebull, who is the cultural director for Standing Rock.  We will be visiting various historical sites while delivering aid material to those in need.  We’ll be sure to take plenty of photos for you to enjoy!

Emergency Appeal for Funding

Posted by worldorphanrelief on May 4, 2014

The Fishermen and the Alliance for Ukraine without Orphans (http://en.ukrainabezsyrit.org) require immediate funding for the transfer and resettlement of children from orphanages to foster homes and churches to avoid the growing conflict in the east and southeast of Ukraine. Please donate via Facebook (The Fishermen International Aid and Relief Nonprofit) or our website (thefishermenrelief.org).

The children pictured here and many, many more are in mortal danger and need to be evacuated. I am activating our emergency medical team and will be awaiting word from the UWO for deployment. It is likely we will need to be in-country within the next 5 to 6 days.

It is important to note that the funds we request for Ukraine will be used for that specific mission only.  Whether or not we deploy our team is irrelevant – the children who are in danger must be moved to safety regardless of our presence and these expenses must be covered.
