UPS Donates Cargo Space for Large Hygiene Supply Shipment

Posted by worldorphanrelief on July 30, 2013

It is with great pleasure that I announce the successful dispatch of almost 200 lbs of hygiene supplies to our partner in the Kyrgyz Republic, the Children of Tien Shan.  As of 10am this morning three heavy boxes were picked up at our home by UPS – who generously donated the cargo space for our shipment – and are now on their way to KG.

Collected by our SMTP director Abby Kalainikas, inventoried and packed by Randy Bridges, donor transport arranged by Steve Smith of Airlink, and shipped by UPS, this has been a cooperative venture for which I thank each and every participant for their support.  Great work, everyone – the orphaned and fostered children of the Kyrgyz Republic will live much healthier due to your help!

“Do Not Touch” Landmine/IED/ERW-Awareness Teaching Aid Books on Their Way To Afghanistan

Posted by worldorphanrelief on July 26, 2013

MACCA First Edition July 25 2013

We are happy to announce that our initial shipment of our “Do Not Touch” Landmine/IED/ERW-Awareness teaching aid booklets have been shipped to our partner in Afghanistan. This project was a cooperative effort with the US Department of State, United Nations, and the Mine Action Coordination Center for Afghanistan.  Additional support was also provided by the 192nd EOD, Colin King, Dr. Wais Aria, Janine Bryant, Sarah Gowen, Richard Wilson and Tom Anstey.  Many thanks to all contributors for this very important and life-saving initiative to educate the children of Afghanistan on how to identify and avoid landmines and other ERWs.
